The invention relates to use of derivative of 1,4-dihydropyridine 2,6-dimethyl-3,5-(2-dipropoxyetoxycarbonyl)-4-(2-difluorometoxy)phenyl-1,4-dihydropyridine (Cerebrocrast). The compound may be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents, to reduce diabetic neuropathy and to prevent complications of diabetes (for example, ulcers, gangrenes, sexual dysfunction, sudden death).
