摘要

The present invention intends to show that the PGE1 in-vivo and in-vitro increases the calcitriol synthesis, which results in an advance regarding the present knowledge of the bone metabolism. A further purpose of the invention is to point out that the PGE1, upon increasing the calcitriol synthesis, provokes calcium and phosphates to be hyperabsorbed at an intestinal level, thereby accelerating the bone mineralization and promoting the bone anabolism. The administration of PGE1 in fractured animals increases the calcitriol synthesis, thereby reducing the bone mineralization time. The application of the present invention therefore intends to provide a new alternative to those patients having low levels of calcium and those suffering from therapeutic osteopenia, it also accelerating the fracture healing; the antiproliferative character of calcitriol allows benign and malignant proliferative wounds to be corrected.
