Method of producing copper hydroxosulphates and copper fungicidal compositions containing same

Disclosed is a process of manufacturing aqueous suspensions of brochantite (Cu4(OH)6SO4), or antlerite (Cu3(OH)4SO4), or a mixture, wherein an aqueous solution of copper sulphate CuSO4 with a concentration by weight of copper between 6% and 10% is reacted with an aqueous suspension of copper oxide or copper hydroxide with a concentration of between 15% and 50% by weight, wherein the molar ratio of SO4/Cu is between 0.25 and 0.40, and whereing the reaction is carried out at a controlled temperature of between 40C and 100C. Also disclosed is the use of such suspensions in cupric fungicidal compositions, for the fungicidal treatment of crops.
