A process for the preparation of 7-aryl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-5-thiones involves interaction of equimolar quantity of 3-amino-triazole with methyl ethers of cinnamic acids in dimethylformamide while boiling. Prepared substituted triazolopyrimidin is subjected to thionation with sulfur-containing compound in dioxane while boiling.sulfur-containing component. The reaction of thionation is carried out up to the preparation of desired product.
