MUCORACEOUS MOLD BLAKESLEA TRISPORA STRAIN PHT 1+, PHT 1- - THE PRODUCER OF PHYTOINE

A strain Pht 1+; Pht 1- of mucoraceous mold Blakeslea trispora – the producer of phytoine was selected. The strain is deposited at the depository of Zabolotnyi Institute of microbiology and virology of the National Academy of sciences of Ukraine under the number of F-100053. The concentration of phytoine depends on the ratio between two sex forms and on the fermentation time. The optimal ratio is 1:5 at the 7-diurnal fermentation. The yield of phytoine was from 1.5 to 2.2 g/l of culture broth or concentration of 10-15%.
