The invention relates to the compositions and methods for detection of presence of DNA sequence of corn transformant MON863, integrated into corn genome as a result of transformation of recombinant construction, containing gene r3b, and genome sequences, flanking the insertion site. The invention also relates to the transformant corn plants MON863, to theirs descendants and seeds, containing DNA of corn transformant MON863, which provides for insect invasion resistance.
