A plant producing sunflower sunflower seeds, which seeds comprise an oil having a stearic acid content of at least 22% by weight relative to the total amount of fatty acid in the oil, and in which oil between 6% and 12 , 4% of the triacylglycerol species have the general formula SMS and not more than 5.0% of triacylglycerol species have the general formula SMM, wherein the formula give from left to right the first, second and third fatty acid in the triacylglycerol and S represents a saturated fatty acid and M represents a monoenic fatty acid, obtainable by providing seed of CAS-3 or CAS-4 or similar seeds with a feature of high stearic acid as at least one ancestor, crossing the plant grown from of such seed with other different sunflower material, assaying the TAG oil using Gas-Liquid Chromatography and selecting material having a high acid content stearic of at least 22% by weight and the desired TAG profile, wherein at least 6% of the triacylglycerol species have the general formula SMS and not more than 5.0% of triacylglycerol species have the general formula SMM.
