A shunt system (10) for draining fluid within a patient, comprising: a housing (12) containing a shunt device (20) having a valve mechanism (22) therein for regulating the flow of liquid inside and outside of the shunt system (10), a pump chamber (24) in fluid communication with the valve mechanism (22) and a reservoir (30) connected to and in fluid communication with the pump chamber (24 ), including reservoir (30) an upper section (32) and a base section (34) extending into a connector (36), wherein at least a portion of the connector (36) extends outside the cover (12); a catheter inlet (40) having a first end (42) configured for attachment to the connector (36), a second end (44) configured for fluid acquisition and a channel (46) extending therebetween for transporting fluid within the inlet catheter (40); and an outlet catheter (60) having a first end (62) configured for attachment to the valve mechanism (22), a second end (64) configured to release fluid and a channel (66) extending between thereof to transport liquid into the outlet catheter (60), wherein the cover includes a convex (14) and characterized cap that: the inlet catheter (40) further includes a locking mechanism engageable selectively (50) adapted to secure the first end (42) to the connector (36); the cover (14) includes an endoscope port (16); the base section (34) of the reservoir (30) includes a mechanism valve (70) including a ball free floating (72) positionable to permit endoscopic access through the mechanism of valve ( 70).
