An examination mirror or speculum (10) to dilate a body cavity, comprising: a main body (12); a plurality of first dilating fingers (14A, 14B), coupled by their respective proximal ends, or closer, (16A, 16B) to the main body in a manner that allows the respective distal ends, or further away, corresponding (18A, 18B) of the first fingers (14A, 14B) move away from each other; and a drive device (20), pivotally coupled to the main body (12) such that the drive device (20) can be pivoted to contact butt with the proximal ends (16A, 16B) of the first fingers dilators (14A, 14B), which causes the distal ends (18A, 18B) of the first fingers (14A, 14B) to move away from each other, thereby dilating the body cavity, the speculum (10) being characterized because the drive device (20) is provided with a second finger (70), fixed thereto and located between adjacent first fingers, whereby, when said drive device is pivoted, a distal end of the second finger moves moving away from the distal ends of the first fingers.
