The subject of the present invention concerns a novel cellular cryopreservation method which achieves vitrification of biological samples with presence of low concentrations of cryoprotector. The method is based on use of forced convection for the purpose of increasing heat transfer and attaining very high rates of cooling and reheating which prevent nucleation and growth of ice crystals.
