The present invention concernsa method for evaluating the metastatictendency of tumor cells by determiningthe level of expression (mRNA level) ofthe gene coding for the thrombin receptor(ThR) or by determining the level of thethrombin receptor present on the membranesor within the tumor cells. A high levelof either of the above indicates a highmetastatic tendency, a low level indicates alow metastatic tendency and an intermediatelevel indicates a moderate metastatictendency. The present invention furtherconcerns a kit for use in the above method.
