HAPTEN-CARRIER CONJUGATES FOR USE IN DRUG-ABUSE THERAPY AND METHODS FOR PREPARATION OF SAME

Hapten-carrier conjugates capable of eliciting anti-haptenanti--bodies in vivo are described. Methods of preparing said conjugates andtherapeutic compositions are also described. Where the hapten is a drugof abuse, a therapeutic composition containing the hapten-carriercon-jugate is particularly useful in the treatment of a drug addiction. Thetherapeutic composition is suitable for co-therapy with otherconven-tional drugs. Passive immunization using antibodies raised against thehapten-carrier conjugates of the invention are also described.
