AEROSOL FORMULATIONS AND DEVICES FOR INCREASING LIBIDO IN WOMEN VIA ACUTE TESTOSTERONE ADMINISTRATION

The libido of adult human female patients is increased by the intrapulmonarydelivery of testosterone. A formulationof testosterone is aerosolized and inhaled into a patient's lungs whereparticles of testosterone deposits on lung tissue and then enterthe patient's circulatory system. The patient's testosterone level is enhancedwell above baseline levels for a short period and subsidesto baseline levels with normal metabolism thereby providing desired short termeffects on enhanced libido without undesirable effectsof long term enhanced testosterone levels. Additional formulations areprovided including formulations for aerosolized delivery ofsildenafil citrate which are delivered to male or female patients.
