SENSOR FOR ANIONS IN SOLUTION BASED ON A MOLECULARLY IMPRINTED POLYMER

Devices for measuring and detecting a wide variety of analytes, includingpolyatomic anions, such as organophosphorus pesticides and nerve agents areprovided. The devices function by selectively binding an analyte to aluminescent functionality-imprinted copolymer. The copolymers possess asecurely bound luminescent lanthanide ion, such as Eu3+, in a coordinationcomplex that has been imprinted to bind the chemical functionality. Alsoprovided are methods for producing the lanthanide-containing molecularlyimprinted polymers of the invention.
