METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING LANYARD SECUREMENT TO A TRANSPORT TRAILER

An apparatus is provided for providing lanyard hook attachment to a transporttrailer. The straphas first and second opposite ends with respective securement means connectedto the first andsecond ends. Tensioning means are connected to the strap between the first andsecond ends forapplying tension to said strap to urge said first and second ends and in turnsaid respectivesecurement means toward one another. The respective securement means areconfigured to gripopposite edges of the transport trailer in response to the tensioning of thestrap to secure the strapto the transport trailer at least to such an extent as to support the weightof a worker hangingfrom a lanyard mounted to the strap.A method is provided for providing lanyard hook attachment to a transporttrailer. The methodcomprises the steps of:(i) providing an apparatus as described above;(ii) securing the apparatus to a transport trailer by mounting the respectivesecuring means over the opposite edges of the transport trailer andtensioning the tensioning means to apply tension to the strap therebycausing secure gripping of the opposite edges of the transport trailer withthe securement means;(iii) securing the lanyard to the apparatus for either slideable or non-slideablemovement therealong.
