A chair construction includes a chair frame with a seat portion and aback portion and a flexible envelope that encompasses the chair frame. Theenvelope includes first and second layers having a first selected widthbetweenfirst left and right edges. The first and second layers are constructed of aslingable material. A third layer constructed of a non-slingable material andhasa second selected width between second left and right edges where the secondselected width is shorter than the first selected width of the first andsecondlayers. The first and second left and right edges are aligned and the layersaresecured together proximate the left and right edges to form the flexibleenvelope. When the envelope is positioned over the frame, the third layer isstretched a greater distance than the first and second layers, such that thenon--slingable layer remains taut.
