A cable and a method of making the cable includes an electrically conductivecable core for transmitting electrical power and at least one layer of aplurality ofarmor wires surrounding the cable core. At least one of the armor wires is abimetallic armor wire having a coaxial inner portion and a surrounding outerportion.The inner and outer portions are formed of different metallic materials andthebimetallic armor wire provides a return path for the electrical powertransmittedthrough the cable core.
