Systems and methods for estimatingwork-force talent supply. Candidate resumes are received inelectronic form and expressed in natural language. Thenatural language expression of the candidate resumes isanalyzed to extract elements expressed in candidatere-sumes and to convert extracted elements into a normalizedform. A sampling database of candidates is built usingnormalized form of elements produced by the analysis ofcandidate resumes to provide an element-level descriptionof each candidate in the sampling database. Data from theU.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is used todeter-mine the national supply of workforce talent byoccupa-tion, and the national or regional workforce supply oftal-ent is estimated at an element level by statisticallyextrap-olating the information in the sampling database inaccor-dance with the BLS data.
