A plant (1) for the production of electric energy, the essential parts of which consist of one or more vegetable oil tanks (2), one or more diesel engines (9) each of which is connected to a corresponding electric generator (10), a vegetable oil conduction line (5) from the tanks to the diesel engines (9), one or more steam generators (21), an exhaust gas conduction line (25, 26) from the diesel engines (9) to the steam generators (21), a water supplying line to the steam generators (21), one turbine (38) connected to a corresponding electric generator (39), and a steam conduction line (40) from the steam generators (21) to the turbine (38).
