The invention relates to agent compositions, especially detergents and cleaning agents, which contain a protease from a bacterial strain of the genus Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and to the proteases as such. The invention further relates to cleaning methods which use said agents and to the use of said agents. The invention finally relates to the production and the use of the proteases as such.
