A group information updating method and apparatus in a digital cluster system. The method comprises the following steps: a PDS determines the amount of users who are updating the group information currently before performing a group information updating to a user. When the amount of users that are performing group information updating is less than a set threshold value and the state of the user is idle the PDS initiates the group information updating to the user.
