DON'T-CARE BIT EXTRACTION METHOD AND DON'T-CARE BIT EXTRACTION PROGRAM

It is possible to provide a don't-care bit extraction method and a don't-care bit extraction program which can extract a don't-care bit from a first and a second input vector while guaranteeing a path in a combination circuit which has been activated by the first and the second input vector successively applied to an input line of the combination circuit. The don't-care bit extraction method extracts don't-care bits (X1, X2) from the first and the second input vector (V1, V2) which are formed by a combination of logical value bits 0 and 1 and successively applied to the input line in the scan-designed sequential circuit or a single combination circuit (10). The method includes a step of extracting the first and the second don't-care bit (X1, X2) from the first and the second input vector (V1, V2) while guaranteeing activation of a part or whole of the path Pi in the combination circuit (10) activated by applying the first and the second input vector (V1, V2).
