Disclosed are a method of producing erythropoietin rom erythropoietin-transgenic silkworm cocoons and an erythropoietin produced thereby. More particularly, disclosed are a method of producing transgenic silkworms by preparing an erythropoietin-containing expression vector and introducing the expression vector into silkworms, a method of producing erythropoietin from silkworms obtained by breeding the transgenic silkworms, and an erythropoietin produced thereby.
