The present invention relates to a device for taking samples at the surface in a water during the period of river flood, characterized in that it comprises, supported by a supporting framework (3) able to be implanted in the bed of the water to be treated, on the one hand, a set of parallel tubes (9), with vertical axes, which are regularly spaced and adapted to collect a sample of water at the surface, each tube having a different height of a tube to the next to the frame, being closed at its lower part and comprising at its upper part of the slots of the admission of the sample surface water in the tube, on the other hand, of the electric means for detecting the level of water when the tube (9) is filled, and finally a common assembly of control, separated from the framework, connected to the set of tubes to be measured sequentially the time of their respective filled progressively with increasing the level in the course of water.
