PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data acquiring device capable of acquiring the data of the internal structure of an object using a terahertz wave with high resolving power, and a data acquiring method using it.;SOLUTION: The data acquiring device has a generator 9, a detector 10, a first delay means 15, a second delay means 16 and a calculation means. The generator 9 is excited by first light to generate a terahertz wave as a pulse and the detector 10 is excited by second light coherent to the first light to detect the terahertz wave from the object 2 irradiated with the pulses of the terahertz wave. The first delay means 15 alters a delay time so as to detect the pulse signal of the terahertz wave from the object 2 by the detector 10 and the second delay means 16 alters the delay time by the time width or below of the pulse signal detected by the detector 10. The calculation means calculates the data of the time position of the peak of the pulse signal of the terahertz wave from the object 2 on the basis of the data of the signal detected by the detector 10 when the delay time is altered by the second delay means in the delay time due to the first delay means 15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
