A method for estimating 5-axis milling machining time is provided to estimate exactly milling time by utilizing speed characteristics and feed angles of a milling machine. An NC(Numerical Control) block is read from NC data. Milling speed of a curve interval is obtained based on acceleration of a milling machine at a curve interval for transforming a progress direction of a tool in an NC block. Calculating speed of a curve line interval is obtained based on speed characteristics of the milling machine in the NC block. Milling time is calculated by obtaining the carrying speed and carrying distances of the curve and straight line intervals in the NC block. By repeating the calculation of the milling time through a whole block of the NC data, a milling time on the whole NC data is obtained.
