Antioxidant composition comprising enzymatic extracts of Stellaria dichotoma

An antioxidant composition comprising the enzymatic extract of Stellaria dichotoma is provided to improve anti-oxidative effects by removing DPPH(diphenylpicrylhydrazyl) radical, hydroxyl radical and alkyl radical, and inhibit side effects and toxicity, so that the composition is useful for inhibition and treatment of aging and diseases caused by oxides produced by reactive oxygen. An antioxidant composition comprises the enzymatic extract of Stellaria dichotoma which is prepared by treating Stellaria dichotoma in phosphate buffer or sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer with pH 3.0-8.0 with a protein or sugar hydrolase at 25-70 deg. C for 6-10 hours, and is used as medicines, health supplement, cosmetic, food or food additive, wherein the sugar hydrolase is selected from promozyme, celluclast, maltogenase, viscozyme, termamyl, dextrozyme and amyloglucosidase, and the protein hydrolase is selected from protamex, flavourzyme, neutrase, trypsin and alcalase.
