An avatar item purchase request processing method for updating an avatar of a user according to a purchase request without moving a webpage and an avatar service system using the network are provided to enable a user to decorate the avatar in a current screen while using an avatar service. It is detected whether an event occurs in an area of an avatar displayed in a screen of a user computer(S31). A list of items to be purchased is output and a user selects the desired item when the event is detected(S32). A purchase request message for purchasing the selected item is transmitted to a server of a preset communication address through the network(S33).
