An antibody to the cardiac ankyrin repeat protein is provided to allow the cardiac ankyrin repeat protein to be detected in tissue by using the antibody. An antibody to the cardiac ankyrin repeat protein is prepared by using the peptide selected from the group consisting of the peptides of the numbers 9-23 and the peptides of the numbers 92-106 as an antibody. Preferably the antibody is a polyclone antibody.
