摘要

An optical film for a plasma display panel, a method of manufacturing the optical film, an apparatus for forming groove patterns of the optical film, and a plasma display panel using the optical film are provided to form a light absorbing layer pattern in the inside of a substrate, a reflection preventing layer or a near infrared preventing layer, thereby minimizing reflection due to external light by absorbing the external light. A substrate(100) is made of glass or transparent plastic. The transparent plastic can be made of polyethylene terephthalate(PET), polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), and polyethylene(PE). A reflection preventing layer(200) can be formed on a substrate to prevent reflection of external light and reduce dispersion reflection influencing a contrast. A light absorption layer pattern(250) is equipped inside the reflection preventing layer. Black material layers are arranged in a grid type to form the light absorption layer pattern. Or point type black material layers are separately arranged in X and Y axes to form the light absorption layer pattern. Or line type black material layers are arranged in stripe types to form the light absorption layer pattern.
