A modified (co)polymer is provided to ensure excellent development, miscibility with organic binder and pigment and dispersibility in the application to a photolithographic material for a flat panel display such as a column spacer, color filter, color resist, and photoresist. A modified (co)polymer comprises a glycidyl compound moiety without an ethylenically unsaturated bond, which is introduced by an acid functional group, ethylenically unsaturated bond and addition reaction, and has the acid value of 30~300 mgKOH/g based on the solid component and the average molecular weight of 1,000~100,000.
