A METHOD TO ESTIMATE THE EQUIVALENT PLATE THICKNESS FOR THE ULTIMATE STRENGTH CALCULATIONS OF STIFFENED PANELS WITH NON-UNIFORM PLATE THICKNESS

An equivalence plate thickness calculation method for final strength calculation of a reinforcement plate having non uniform plate thickness is provided to change a unit reinforcement plate assembling plates having different thickness into a single plate structure having equal final strength. An equivalence plate thickness calculation method for final strength calculation of a reinforcement plate having non uniform plate thickness comprises: a step of calculating a surface area(St=Sp+Ss, St: total surface area of reinforcement plate Sp: total surface area of plate material Ss: total surface area of reinforcing material) of a whole designed unit reinforcement plate; a step of calculating the whole volume(Vt) of the designed unit reinforcement plate and the whole volume(Vs) of the reinforcing material of the unit reinforcement plate; and a step of computing plate thickness(tp) of the unit reinforcement plate by substituting the calculated unit reinforcement plate whole volume and the reinforcing material whole volume of the unit reinforcement plate for a formula(tp=[Vt-Vs]/St).
