A pharmaceutical composition with an artemisia extract is provided to maintain a floating state of a slow-release oral medicine by a digestive fluid or body fluid in order to improve an absorption rate for gastrointestinal tracts. A pharmaceutical composition with an artemisia extract uses a drug delivery system including a swelling polymer, foam generator, slow-release adjustment polymer, and a dissolution assisting agent. The swelling polymer is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, calcium carboxymethyl cellulose, propylene glycol alginate, polyvinyl alcohol, povidone, carbomer, cellulose acetate phthalate, hydroxypropyl-methylcellulose phthalate, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose tri mellidate, and hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose maleate.
