Conductive particles are provided to form a functional group on the surface of conductive particles and to obtain the insulating coated conductive particles firmly coated by enough amount of insulating child particles. Conductive particles comprises a gold layer having the average film thickness of 300 angstrom as an outmost layer on a nickel layer, wherein the composition ratio (Ni/Au) of nickel and gold on the surface of the conductive particles by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is 0.4 or less. A method for manufacturing the insulating coated conductive particles(10) comprises the steps of obtaining functional group-containing conductive particles(8) formed with the predetermined functional group on the surface of conductive particles by contacting a compound having (i) at least one group selected from the group consisting of a mercapto group, sulfide group and disulfide group, and (ii) a predetermined functional group, with the surface of the outermost layer of conductive particles; and contacting the functional group-containing conductive particles and insulating child particles(6).
