A cylinder liner sprue cutting method for foil and a process thereof are provided to reduce a risk factor of operation, the processes and the cost of equipment but to increase the productivity. A cylinder liner sprue cutting method for foil comprises: a step of transporting a cylinder liner casting material for foil to a sprue cutting device of a cylinder liner casting material for foil(301); a step of mounting the carried material to a spindle chuck(302); a step of cutting a sprue of the material(303); a step of tearing the minimum residual in a cutting processing step by using a principles of wedge(304); a step of separating the cut sprue and a cylinder liner part(305); and a step of carrying the to the cylinder liner part for the disassembled foil to the specific place(306).
