A thermal diffusion coefficient measuring apparatus and method by laser flash are provided to measure a precise and reproducible thermal diffusion coefficient by reflecting the heat resistance value of a coated specimen to the thickness of the specimen. A thermal diffusion coefficient measuring apparatus comprises a laser generation unit irradiating laser, a measurement specimen(10) having a graphite layer(20) in the front and back surfaces where the laser passes, an infrared sensor, and a calculation unit performing calculation based on the output signal of the infrared sensor. The laser sensor is positioned behind the measurement specimen and measures the backplane temperature of the specimen and time, based on the heat emitted from the specimen.
