A method for recognizing a location based on clustering in a wireless sensor network is provided to minimize a total throughput load and power consumption between the wireless sensor network and a sensor node. Location recognition information between cluster heads is presumed(S201). The cluster heads broadcast a control signal like a beacon signal(S203). A sensor node selects a cluster head managing the sensor node(S205). It is determined whether a location of the sensor node should be recognized or routing should be performed(S207). The cluster head obtains location information of the sensor node(S209).
