Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for cluster-based mobile sink position management for a wireless sensor network capable of solar energy collection. The method for cluster-based mobile sink position management for a wireless sensor network capable of solar energy collection comprises: a mode selection step of selecting one operation mode among an energy-rich (ER) mode and an energy-save (ES) mode in accordance with an energy threshold and a residual energy amount at each sensor node of the wireless sensor network; a step of selecting any one among nodes of the ER mode of each cluster as a cluster head; a position notification step of selecting a node where a mobile sink is in an ER mode and the distance is the shortest as an access node, and registering position information with the selected access node to allow the access node to transmit position information of the access node to all cluster heads via a cluster head to which the access node belongs to share the position information; and a data transmission step where each cluster head sets a data transmission route in a reverse direction of a route in which the position information of the access node is transmitted, and transmits collection data collected at a member node in a cluster to the access node in accordance with the data transmission route.
