NATURAL BOIL OFF GAS TREATMENT USING LOAD BANK ON LNG CARRIER EQUIPPED WITH DUEL FUEL DIESEL-ELECTRIC PROPULSION

A natural boil-off gas treatment by using load banks on an LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) carrier is provided to electrically consume natural boil-off gas, generated in an LNG storage tank, by a load bank having a variable resistor, thereby reducing the generation of noise, heat and harmful gas from a gas combustion part. A natural boil-off gas treatment by using load banks on an LNG carrier includes an LNG storage tank(110), a duel fuel engine(131), a gas combustion part(150), a feeding pipe(125), a generator(132), an electric motor(141), and variable resistors such as the load banks(160). The dual fuel engine employs natural gas and fuel oil as fuel. The natural gas generated from the LNG storage tank is supplied to the duel fuel engine and the gas combustion part via the feeding pipe. The generator converts motion energy generated by the duel fuel engine to electric energy and is connected to the variable resistor which consumes the generated electric energy.
