ANTIBACTERIAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE ESSENTIAL OIL FROM ARTEMISIA ANNUA L

An antimicrobial composition is provided to improve the antimicrobial effect against the Salmonella strain and to obtain the synergism the antibacterial effect when using it together with the preexisting antibiotic. An antimicrobial composition against the Salmonella strain comprises an essential oil prepared from Artemisia annua L. as an effective ingredient. The antimicrobial composition shows an antimicrobial activity against at least one selected from the group consisting of Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium. The essential oil is obtained from Artemisia annua L. by simultaneous steam distillation and extraction.
