METHOD FOR INDUCING THE DIFFERENTIATION OF EMBRYONIC STEM CELLS INTO MYOCARDIAL CELLS

A method for inducing the differentiation of embryonic stem cells to myocardial cells is provided to effectively differentiate the embryonic stem cell adding a material which suppresses HIF-1 activation. A method for inducing the differentiation of embryonic stem cells to myocardial cells is to culture in the medium containing an inhibitor of HIF-1 (Hypoxia-inducible factor-1). The HIF-1 inhibitor is a compound of the chemical formula 1 or 2. A method for inducing the differentiation comprises: a step of co-culturing the embryonic stem cell with a trophoblast; a step of culturing the embryonic stem cell to establish embryonic bud; a step of culturing the embryonic bud; and a step of culturing the embryonic bud in the medium containing a composition for inducing differentiation to differentiate to myocardial cells.
