LOCALITY-AWARE GARBAGE COLLECTION TECHNIQUE FOR NAND FLASH MEMORY-BASED STORAGE SYSTEMS

摘要

PURPOSE: A locality based garbage collection method for a NAND flash memory is provided to reduce reading, writing, and erasing operations in a garbage collection operation of a flash memory conversion layer using the locality of a load. CONSTITUTION: When a writing command is requested from a file system of a NAND flash memory based storing unit(401,402), the temporal locality and the sequential locality of the corresponding writing command are determined. The temporal locality and the sequential locality are classified and stored in a log buffer managed by respective different relation method.
