PURPOSE: A color based object tracing device using an initial color renewal and a method thereof are provided to efficiently trace the object and accurately find the location of the object. CONSTITUTION: A color based object tracing device using an initial color renewal is as follows. A first object detection unit(110) detect the location of the object with the color by repetitively performing average movement clustering. A direction vector detection unit(120) detects a second shadow areas corresponding to the first shadow areas. The direction vector detection unit detects direction vector of the shadow. An object location estimation unit(130) estimates object location of the second image frame.
