PURPOSE: An optical disc drive and a control method thereof are provided to focus on the target layer of a multi-layer optical disc with high accuracy in layer jump.;CONSTITUTION: A control method of an optical disc drive comprises a step of acquiring the optimum aberration correction positions on first and second layers of a multi-layer optical disc while varying the location of an aberration correction unit(504), a step of positioning the aberration correction unit in the middle position between the aberration correction positions of the first and second layers(516), a step of performing layer jump from the first layer to the second layer(518), and a step of positioning the aberration correction unit in the aberration correction position of the second layer(520).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
