PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling record speed in an optical disc drive are provided to stably performing the layer jump operation and a data recording operation by regulating record speed considering the layer jump operation.;CONSTITUTION: A record unit(18) records data in an optical disk. A controller(15) controls the layer jump operation about the optical disk. The controller reduces the record speed around the layer jump operation. After the layer jump operation, the controller increases the record speed in a predetermined address. The predetermined address is coping with the set range or the time.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
