PURPOSE: A femto base station identifying apparatus and a method thereof in a wireless communication system for reducing the complexity and the delay are provided to minimize th e deterioration of synchronization performance by identifying the femto base stations with PCID.;CONSTITUTION: A PCID(Physical Cell Identity) of a femto base station is confirmed in case the femto base station is searched(301). An SFN(System Frame Number) of the base station is confirmed as the femto base station(303). The system frame number of the base station is compared as the femto base station.
