A device and a method for allocating a time slot are provided to improve performance for detecting an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) tag by reducing a scanning cycle, which is needed for RFID readers scanning all RFID tags in a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access)-based RFID network. An RFID interface(31) provides a path for connecting to an RFID reader(20). An RFID reader manager(33) allocates a time slot for communicating with an RFID tag. An RFID tag information manager(35) manages an ID code of the RFID tag received from the RFID interface. An application interface(37) provides a connection path for transmitting the ID code to a central server(40). The RFID reader manager includes a time slot allocator(33a) and an anti-collision device(33b). The time slot allocator allocates the time slot divided by the same frequency band. The anti-collision prevents collision when the time slot is allocated to the RFID reader.
