A retractable writing utensil is provided to prevent an ink from being dried by the external air and the air remaining inside the case, thereby preventing the damage of a nip. A retractable writing utensil comprises a case(10) having a nip hole at one end; an ink cartridge(20) inserted into the case; a first spring(S1) combined so as to generate the elastic force in the axis direction at the ink cartridge; a holder(30) pressurized by a first spring and provided with a second spring inside; and an opening and closing member supported by the second spring and having a hooking projection to be closely supported to the inner circumference of the case, wherein the second spring is provided with a support projection and a stopping ring holding the movement of the opening and closing member.
