Method and service server for providing star information using mobile terminal

A constellation information providing method and a service server thereof are provided to offer a user information about a constellation which is located in the direction of user's eyes. A constellation information providing method comprises the following steps. A mobile terminal requests a service server to provide a constellation information service(S401). The service server obtains and stores the identifier and address information of the mobile terminal, and then transmits a service response message(S402). The mobile terminal receiving the service response message transmits its GPS information to the service server(S403). The service server produces the movement track of the mobile terminal on the GPS information received from the mobile terminal(S404). The service server calculates the progressing direction of the mobile terminal based on the generated movement track(S405). The service server produces a user table based on the identifier, GPS information, orbit information and progressive direction of the mobile terminal(S406). The service server searches information about a constellation positioned in the progressing direction of the user based on the GPS information and progressing direction of the mobile terminal(S407). Finally, the service server transmits the constellation information to the mobile terminal(S408).
