A method and a system for modeling face in 3D using AAM(Active Appearance Model) are provided to express the various mood on 3D character of face feature efficiently. An image pre-processing for the face recognition is performed by receiving an image about the predetermined object(210). The corresponding face range is extracted by performing a face detection recognition algorithm based on the pre-processed image(220). A modeling process of composite face image is performed by converting the extracted face feature base on prestored statistical face model(240). A 3D face image is automatically formed through the rendering process which unites the mapping source in the synthesis(250).
